Here are RPM packages for icculus.org/quake3 for Fedora and Redhat Enterprise Linux.  Currently only the RHEL4 package has been well tested.

New!  Apt repo added.

packages are as follows:

Quake3 commercial CD data is NOT included.  You will need to supply your
Quake3 CD-ROM or have a local copy of the pak0.pak and your CD key to play.
When you run the binary, it will attempt to copy the data files off of a
mounted CD-ROM, or from a previous Quake3 install.

You will also need OpenAL.  Packages for FC2, FC3, and RHEL4 are available here:
